Friday Travels

Friday was an eventful day. The day began with a wildlife tour of Lamar Valley in Northern Yellowstone. We began before daylight and traveled an hour in 10 degree weather. We did view wolves in the wild for the first time. Elk, buffalo, coyote, bighorn sheep, and dozen of eagles. Great times!
After lunch we headed south along the Gibbon river seeing lots of beautiful country, thermal features, and more wildlife. We did pass the area where our buffalo friend chased us the day before. Although an exciting event it did make us realize how close to injury and death you can be at any moment.

Snow levels were close to 2-3 feet in places. Near Norris Geyser basin the road pavement was dry in places due to the increased ground temperature. Tons of sawdust was in those places to make our travel easier. We made it safe and sound with only one other buffalo stampede to West Yellowstone. We had a great dinner and celebrated Tommy & Diane Wiley's 40th wedding anniversary. Good times, good friends, and God's beautiful work has made our trip a great one!

What's going on in your homes?

  1. Glad to see you are having a good time. We are almost to our 10th day without power at home. My family is in Miami. This morning I battled a skunk in the garage. I was victorious, but it will take a week to air out. Cody
